ABOUT ME - ROBIN YEARWOOD JR.
Who Am I?
Born in the UK to Antiguan parents, I spent my younger years living in the heart of Willikies Village. My father was and still is a member of the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party Government, I have grown up with politics in me. I started my education at St Nicholas Primary school, and then transferred to England to complete my GCSE’s and A-Levels. I decided to continue my education in the field of Law where I gained my BA (Hons) in Legal Studies and Master of Law, LLM International Law at Coventry University and then my LLB in Law at the University of West London, and in 2020 I was admitted to the Rolls of Solicitors.
I have spent the last 4 years practising as a qualified Solicitor where I specialise in Family and Criminal Law, I represent clients from all backgrounds throughout courts in the UK. The experience that I have gained from representing clients on a variety of different legal issues has taught me to be compassionate, empathetic and understanding.
I feel that now is the right time to put myself forward as the next candidate for the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party representing the St. Phillips North Constituency. Not as a hand-me-down from my father, but instead to bring my own ideas and changes that I feel is now needed in this modern era. I feel I have the voice and the vision to bring a new start to St. Phillips North. My mission statement outlays my plans should I be honoured with the seat. I am excited, motivated and dedicated to bring about this change that is desperately needed not only for St. Phillips North but the whole of Antigua & Barbuda. In my spare time I am an avid sports follower mostly football, and since being back in Antigua have taken the time to go and watch Willikies Warriors and Glanvilles FC. I also like to spend time walking through Willikies village chatting to the residents of all ages. I am a people person, so enjoy hearing from everyone that I pass.
